It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lake Placid had no problem doing just that on Sunday. They won by a run and slipped past the Johnsburg Central Jaguars 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Bombers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Owen Lawrence was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hyler Isham, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Lake Placid's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Johnsburg Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-4-1 record.
Coming up, Lake Placid will be taking part in a tournament against North Warren Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bombers surely won't give up without a fight. Johnsburg Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
