Last Thursday, Pope John Paul II was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Quilcene.
Meanwhile, Northwest Yeshiva came up short against Bush on Thursday and fell 56-47.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joe Benoliel, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Pope John Paul II's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Northwest Yeshiva, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Pope John Paul II couldn't quite finish off Northwest Yeshiva when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 59-56. Can Pope John Paul II avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
