Softball Recap: Stockton Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Stockton won against Pierce City on Friday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Osceola Indians. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Raelyn Henderson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Henderson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and two runs. She has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times she's played.

In other batting news, Makinsie Griffis was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Megan Lee, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Stockton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive contests.

Stockton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Osceola, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stockton will take on Sarcoxie at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Osceola, they will face off against Rich Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
