The Mater Lakes Academy Bears won the last time they faced the Ransom Everglades Raiders, and things went their way  on Thursday too. Mater Lakes Academy blew past Ransom Everglades 66-24 at home. Given Mater Lakes Academy's advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings  (they are ranked 137th, while Ransom Everglades is ranked 366th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Mater Lakes Academy found their leader in underclassman  Vanessa  Vancott, who  scored 30 points along with nine  steals and seven  rebounds. The  matchup was  Vancott's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mya Glover, who  scored 11 points along with nine  steals and five  rebounds.
 Mater Lakes Academy's victory was  their third straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Ransom Everglades, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
