Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Valor Preparatory Academy blew Apprentice Academy out of the water with a 82-30 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-18.
It was another big night for Bishop Witherspoon, who scored 26 points. Witherspoon is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Darrell Caldwell, who scored 16 points.
Apprentice Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Radear Watson, who scored 12 points. That was a full 40% of Apprentice Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Acoveno, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
Valor Preparatory Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Apprentice Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valor Preparatory Academy will square off against Queen's Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apprentice Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carolina International at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Carolina International will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
