The Summit Tigers won the last time they faced the Buena Vista Demons, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Summit walked away with a 55-48 victory over Buena Vista.
It was another big night for Emilio Jain, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eduardo Gutierrez, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Buena Vista lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaden Schell, who scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schell has scored all season. Julian Lopez-Olsen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Buena Vista were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summit only racked up seven assists.
The victory got Summit back to even at 5-5. As for Buena Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Summit will look to defend their home court on Friday against Moffat County at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Moffat County is ranked 153rd, while Summit is ranked 144th). As for Buena Vista, they will head out on the road to challenge La Junta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
