WHITTIER, Calif. -
Los Osos (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as they threw a touchdown with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
La Serna (Whittier, Calif.) 24-20.
After nabbing the lead on a
Frankie Palmer touchdown pass to
Kevin Ramos, the Lancers went into halftime with a 10-3 lead. The Grizzlies took the lead for good with a passing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 14 points in the third, Los Osos still trailed by seven points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped LO pull out the victory.
The loss comes after La Serna defeated Vista 27-10 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Rancho Cucamonga school, which was coming off a 30-7 defeat at the hands of Alemany in its previous game.
In a non-conference game next week La Serna (1-1) takes on Schurr, and Los Osos (1-1) will go up against Redlands also in a non-conference game.
