Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Lions vs. Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles

Victory Christian hasn't had much luck against Jefferson Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Victory Christian Lions will take on the Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

Victory Christian is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Coosa Christian on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Victory Christian came up short against Coosa Christian, falling 47-27.

Despite their defeat, Victory Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jemma Hazelwood, who posted five points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most boards Hazelwood has posted since back in November of 2024. Addie Lee was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 11 steals and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Ragland on Friday as they won 53-39.

Victory Christian better keep an eye on Jada Washington. She was instrumental in Jefferson Christian Academy's win, posting 40 points. Washington's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Airen Gaskin, who had ten points.

Jefferson Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Victory Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Victory Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Jefferson Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Washington, who earned 24 points.
