Baseball Recap: Navajo Prep Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Navajo Prep had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Thoreau Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Thursday.

Jashyro Bileen was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He also got three hits, which is notable because Navajo Prep is 5-2 when he posts at least three hits, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Khol Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Navajo Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Thoreau, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's still a better percentage than their 5-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Navajo Prep nor Thoreau have any future games scheduled.
