In what's become a running theme this season, the Aquinas Blugolds gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 66-33 victory over Assumption at home. The win was nothing new for Aquinas as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Aquinas was led to victory by Madeline Murphy and Samantha Davis. Murphy scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Davis scored 20 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Davis hasn't dropped below 15 points for 21 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Elias, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Aquinas' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. As for Assumption, their defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas will take on Onalaska at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Aquinas' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups. As for Assumption, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pacelli at 7:15 p.m. on February 13th. Pacelli will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something Assumption surely won't give up without a fight.
