Given Niles North's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Yorkville Christian is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Maine East pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoffman Estates. Maine East has struggled against Hoffman Estates recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Niles North pushed their record up to 21-6 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.4 points. As for Maine East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.
