If Porum was riding high fresh off their 16-3 takedown of Haworth last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Velma-Alma Comets by a score of 15-14 on Friday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Porum's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Velma-Alma, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Velma-Alma has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 loss against Wright City on the 2nd. Hopefully Porum paid attention to the Comets' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Comets on Saturday.
