The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. On Friday Cochranton will take on West Middlesex at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Cochranton, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
After a disappointing eight points in their last match, Cochranton made sure to put some points up on the board against Eisenhower last Friday. Cochranton captured a comfortable 50-34 win over Eisenhower. No one put up better numbers for Cochranton than senior Kohl Bernarding, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 239 yards and 4 touchdowns.
After a string of four wins, West Middlesex's good fortune finally ran out. They took a hard 19-35 fall against Sharpsville. That makes it the first time this season West Middlesex have let down their home crowd.
Cochranton's victory lifted them to 3-6 while West Middlesex's loss dropped them down to 7-2. We'll see if Cochranton's success rolls on or if West Middlesex are able to steal their positive momentum.
