The Edgewood Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the McKinley Red Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Edgewood fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 38-20 win over Lakeside on Friday.
Edgewood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zeke Lucas out in front who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Jacob Ernst was in the mix as well, providing Edgewood with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, McKinley can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against Girard as McKinley made off with a 48-28 victory. The victory was just what McKinley needed coming off of a 21-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Antuan Gardner had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 325 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Gardner hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-4.
Edgewood took a serious blow against McKinley when the teams last played back in October of 2018, falling 62-0. Can Edgewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
