Ellis gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the St. Joseph Spartans 18-1. For Ellis, this counts as revenge for the 18-3 victory St. Joseph walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.
Kylie Rapneth made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Rapneth was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.
