Clark County moved up to 81 from 117 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Clarence Cannon. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of a 41-0 win over Mark Twain.
Clark County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Tigers, 41-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Monroe City's dynamic duo of Grant O'Bryan and Tariq Garner proved tough for South Shelby to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. O'Bryan threw for 93 yards and one touchdown and Garner had 32 yards receiving. Blake Grice helped Monroe City's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.
O'Bryan made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers fell to the Cardinals. The 5-foot-10 junior forced one fumble.
Trace Windsor was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 200 yards as South Shelby fell to South Shelby. Teammate Alex Blackford added to the ground attack by rushing for 77 yards.
Macon's Craig Smith and Brendan Watts have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Clarence Cannon in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 576 yards this season, while Watts, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 11 catches for 202 yards. Windsor from Rob Wilt's team leads the league in rushing with 744 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Tigers take on Louisiana. Macon's offense has racked up 115 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Bulldogs have allowed only 204 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Indians take on Palmyra. Clark County is in first place, while the Panthers are in fifth place.
Pete Claas's team took down Highland 49-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kaleb Welch ran for 76 yards and caught one passes for three yards in the win.
