Basketball Recap: Youngker Skates Past North Canyon with Ease

There's no place like home for Youngker, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the North Canyon Rattlers, posting a 65-32 victory. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Youngker to victory were Ashlee Gonzalez and D'Mya Edmon. Gonzalez posted 27 points, while Edmon earned 17 points. That's the most points Gonzalez has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Caliyah Howard, who put up six points.

Despite the loss, North Canyon still got an impressive performance from Frances Webb, who had six points. Nariah Morgan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Youngker's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for North Canyon, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15.

Youngker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-28 victory against Desert Edge on the 11th. As for North Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-28 defeat against Verrado on the 11th.
