Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lewiston-Porter). They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the North Tonawanda Lumberjacks on Wednesday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Lumberjacks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Isaac Lauger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Spencer Staszczyk and Charlie Jorgensen did most of the damage at the plate: Staszczyk got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Jorgensen went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those two runs gave Staszczyk a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden VanEgmond, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lewiston-Porter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
