Logan Hicks Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Columbia's Logan Hicks, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Hicks rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The victory (which was Columbia's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Hicks will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Breese Central on Friday.

Breese Central Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Griffen Becker
Griffen Becker was instrumental in extending Breese Central's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Becker as he made 15 total tackles.
Breese Central pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Becker and Breese Central will host Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kaden Rakers' Big Game Leads Breese Central over Roxana
Breese Central picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kaden Rakers. Rakers did his part (and then some), rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 41 yards and a touchdown for the 'W'. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.
Rakers is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Columbia on Friday. When Rakers last faced the Eagles back in October of 2023, he rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 62 receiving yards.

John Higgins Turns in Season-Best Effort
Freeburg was led to victory by John Higgins, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Higgins rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 108 receiving yards.
With the win, Freeburg broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. Higgins and Freeburg will face off against Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
