Palatine came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Wheeling Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly four runs.

Ian Sherman made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Toby Peterson, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jett Greiwe was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Palatine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.

Palatine's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.
