The Richland Royals are still winless after their matchup against the Heritage Eagles on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Richland fell just short of Heritage by a score of 50-47. While losing is never fun, Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1437th in Texas, while Heritage is ranked 125th in Colorado).
Heritage can attribute much of their success to Atticus Schroeder, who scored 13 points. Logan Hause was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Richland has fallen quite a ways from their 27-7 record last season and are now at 0-8. As for Heritage, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Richland will head out on the road to face off against Granbury at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. Granbury is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Heritage, they will be playing at home against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Eaglecrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
