It was a good run, but the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Norman. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hickory Ridge in their matchups with Lake Norman: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Ragin' Bulls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sheree Gidney, who scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Leathers, who scored 12 points along with seven assists.
Alexis Shehan was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for Lake Norman. Kelsey Rhyne was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Hickory Ridge's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4. As for Lake Norman, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cox Mill the next time they take the court. Lake Norman will head out to face Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Hickory Ridge will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
