The Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Wilton, falling 63-32. While losing is never fun, Bridgeport Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Wilton is ranked 39th).
Wilton was led to victory by Ryan Luchetta and Henry Roy. Luchetta scored 14 points, while Roy scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Roy, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Bridgeport Central dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Wilton, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridgeport Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bassick at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Wilton, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 481 points over their last seven contests.
