The Boulder City Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Basic Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Boulder City has three straight victories, Basic has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Boulder City had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on Thursday. The Eagles never let the Blue Knights get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Rhiley Beck was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Boulder City let Hayden Nordstrom and Emma Puckett run wild. Nordstrom went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Puckett went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Nordstrom has posted since back in March. Brooklyn Koster was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Boulder City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Basic played against Palo Verde on Wednesday and lost via forfeit.
Boulder City's record now sits at 11-13. As for Basic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.
Boulder City came out on top in a nail-biter against Basic in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
