The Swain County Maroon Devils will head out to  challenge the Cherryville Ironmen  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Swain County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Swain County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. They came out on top against Mountain Heritage by a score of  6-2.

 Rylee Rawls was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March.
 Rawls wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Hadley Shuler, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI. Another  was  Carley Teesateskie, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Cherryville, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Monday. They never let Corvian Community get on the board and left with  a   16-0  win  on Tuesday. Considering the Ironmen have won 12 contests by more than seven  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
Cherryville got a  massive  performance out of  Ava Miller, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emma Proctor, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Cherryville was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .538. They are 10-2 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
 Swain County's record is now 16-5. As for Cherryville, they moved to 14-9 with that  victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
 Swain County suffered a grim  12-2 defeat to Cherryville  when the teams last played  back in May of 2022. Can the Maroon Devils avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
