The College Station Cougars and the Smithson Valley Rangers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the College Station Cougars had to settle for second. They fell to the Rangers 26-21. College Station's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
College Station's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Arrington Maiden, who threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
College Station's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Smithson Valley, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
College Station does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Smithson Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against A&M Consolidated. A&M Consolidated has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 329 points over their last seven contests.
