The Foothill Falcons can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They breezed by Napa at home to the tune of 70-42. Given Foothill's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Napa's loss came despite strong showings from Will Flynn and Eli Mindle. Flynn scored ten points, while Mindle scored 13 points. Flynn continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Quintana, who scored five points.
Foothill's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-10. As for Napa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Dons at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Napa, they will be playing at home against the Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sonoma Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
