After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Arlington, Coronado was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They skirted past the La Jolla Country Day Torreys  6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Cougars have posted  since March 12th.
Coronado got a great performance from  Diego Pena as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Pena has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Matthew Moreno Jackson was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Milano Bradley, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Coronado  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. They are 2-1 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
The  win snapped Coronado's losing streak at four games  and leaves them with a 6-13 record. As for La Jolla Country Day,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-5.
 Coming up, Coronado will face off against Bingham at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 7.6  runs per game this season. As for La Jolla Country Day, they will take on Santa Fe Christian at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The  match will  give the Torreys their first taste of in-conference action this season.
