Football Recap: Brentwood School Piles Up the Points Against Centennial

While Brentwood School put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Centennial. The Eagles blew past the Apaches 33-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Leading Brentwood School to victory were Ben Mikail and Brendan Bowman. Mikail threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Bowman rushed for 81 yards and a pair of TDs. Mikail's passing game has become a key predictor of the Eagles' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Brentwood School pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.3 points on average over those games. As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Brentwood School and Centennial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Eagles will take on Rio Hondo Prep at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th with a big rank disadvantage (331 vs. 105). Meanwhile, Centennial (ranked 805th) will meet El Segundo (ranked 160th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
