On Friday, Morningside Academy ended up a good deal behind Altamonte Christian and lost 72-54.
Morningside Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Clifford, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Elijah Bell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Altamonte Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Billings, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Billings hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Vincent Lee, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Morningside Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Altamonte Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Morningside Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Admiral Farragut at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th.
