The McNair Eagles will square off against the Tokay Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. McNair is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, McNair didn't have quite enough to beat Weston Ranch and fell 9-8.
Celina Valadez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Victoria Ochoa, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Tokay waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bruins a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since February 20th.
The result came thanks to Brooklyn Jeremic-Schaede 2027's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits.
At the plate, Emma Misasi 2025 was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one triple.
Tokay's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for McNair, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. McNair has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tokay struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
McNair might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Tokay in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
