The Yorktown Tigers won the last time they faced the Carroll Chargers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Yorktown had just enough and edged Carroll out 50-48.
Kieran Tewari continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Connor Rowray was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Yorktown has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Carroll, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yorktown and Pendleton Heights will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Pendleton Heights is ranked 102nd, while Yorktown is ranked 78th). As for Carroll, they will play host again and welcome Huntington North, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Huntington North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
