Ben Hastings posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Wednesday. He struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Hastings' effort led San Dieguito Academy over Escondido and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
