The Le Grand Bulldogs will square off against the Argonaut Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Le Grand 2, Argonaut 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Le Grand is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Big Valley Christian 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Ava Avila spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aaliyah Ceja was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Argonaut entered their tilt with Colfax on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Falcons 18-2. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Hailey Dewald made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Dewald was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Argonaut got a massive performance out of AJ Schultz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Bailey Baker was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Argonaut always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colfax only posted an OBP of .150.
Le Grand's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Argonaut, their record is now 23-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Le Grand has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Argonaut struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Le Grand couldn't quite get it done against Argonaut in their previous matchup back in May of 2015 as they fell 6-3. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
