Even though Mars Hill Academy scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Dominion Academy Sabers still came out on top. Dominion Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 victory over Mars Hill Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dominion Academy.
Elijah Heerdt was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Dominion Academy's points. Jayden Striebich was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Dominion Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Mars Hill Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dominion Academy will take on Spring Valley Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mars Hill Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calvary Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th.
