The Lakewood Cougars won the last time they faced the Blaine Borderites, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Lakewood took down Blaine 45-28. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lakewood.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Frankee Powers, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Karly Stewart was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals.
Lakewood now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Blaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood is on the road again on Saturday and play against Nooksack Valley at 7:15 p.m. on December 16th. Blaine will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sedro-Woolley at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
