The team relied heavily on Aubrie Shepherd, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Mylee Jarrett was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Bloomington North saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendon Galligher, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jocelyn Parrish, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Martinsville pushed their record up to 13-16 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Bloomington North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Martinsville took their win against Bloomington North when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 13-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Artesians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
