It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Jefferson City Jays had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Marshall on the road to the tune of 49-3. Considering Jefferson City has won six games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jefferson City was led to victory by Bradarious Lewis and Kantrell Jordan. Lewis rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while Jordan rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns on only five carries. Jordan really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run.
The win was the third in a row for Jefferson City, bringing their record for this year to 7-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40 points. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Jefferson City will square off against Pleasant Hill at TBD on Friday. Pleasant Hill is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
