North Panola extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Palmer Dragons. On the bright side, the 59- point performance marked the Cougars' highest-scoring matchup to date.

As for Palmer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Leading Palmer to victory were Kevin Caston and Hendrix Jamison. Caston posted 23 points and three steals, while Jamison dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Caston has scored at least a third of the Dragons' points. Another player making a difference was Knowledge Moore, who had seven points.

North Panola has already played their next game, an 80-74 loss against Independence on the 2nd. As for Palmer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 31-25 defeat against Coahoma County on the 24th.
