Basketball Recap: Chariton Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Chariton came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-52 W against the Davis County Mustangs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 58-52 win last Thursday.

Chariton pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for Davis County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chariton will host Southeast Warren at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chariton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Southeast Warren likes a good challenge. As for Davis County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Madison at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
