The Cascade Ramblers had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against North Star as Cascade made off with a 64-38 win. With Cascade ahead 41-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
When it comes to explaining why North Star lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blake Hansen. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. Hansen scored a full 50% of North Star's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jackson McReynolds, who scored 9 points.
Cascade's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for North Star, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Cascade will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hansen at 6:30 p.m. As for North Star, they will head out on the road to face off against Vision at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
