Fort Calhoun gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to the Arlington Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-6 victory. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Calhoun to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Elofson, who threw for 230 yards and two TDs on only 19 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Those 230 passing yards gave Elofson a new career-high. Another receiver making a difference was Eli Tinkham, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Coming up, Fort Calhoun will square off against Roncalli Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arlington, they will challenge Conestoga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
