Baseball Game Preview: Council Rock North Indians vs. Council Rock South Golden Hawks

The Council Rock North Indians will take on the Council Rock South Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Council Rock North will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Council Rock North came out on top against Pendleton on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Indians walked away with a 7-3 win over the Bulldogs.

Will Godonis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Will Seiler and Jude Hamilton did most of the damage at the plate: Seiler went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Hamilton went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Council Rock North is 3-1 when Hamilton posts two or more runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise. Joe Rizzo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Council Rock South's offense. They fell just short of Pennsbury by a score of 2-0 last Thursday. That makes it the first time this season the Golden Hawks have let down their home crowd.

Council Rock South also got a good showing from Jack Albright, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits.

Council Rock North pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Council Rock South, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Council Rock North skirted past Council Rock South 5-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Golden Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
