The Bishop Moore Hornets will face off against the Mount Dora Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Moore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Mount Dora will be up against a hot Bishop Moore squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Hornets blew past New Smyrna Beach 13-2 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Riley Johnson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariana Lara, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Carolina Rusnik was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Bishop Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Smyrna Beach only posted an OBP of .292.
Meanwhile, Mount Dora had just enough and edged out Lake Weir 2-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mount Dora.
Not much got past ADDISON GANUS, who gave up just four hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Lake Weir off the board.
At the plate, Mount Dora's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was KALEIGH CASEY, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Bishop Moore's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Mount Dora, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Mount Dora's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bishop Moore has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. It's a different story for Mount Dora, though, as they've only averaged .305. Will they be able to contain Bishop Moore's hitters?
