The Case Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Seekonk Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Case is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Wednesday, Case suffered a rough 73-47 defeat at the hands of the Canalmen. While losing is never fun, Case can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Canalmen are ranked fourth).
Meanwhile, Seekonk lost to the Hawks on the road by a decisive 67-49 margin on Friday.
Seekonk might have lost, but man, Johnny Payne was a machine: he scored 16 points along with two steals. Payne has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Beausoleil, who scored 11 points.
Case's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Seekonk, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Case took their win against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 60-39. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Seekonk's Lucas Pereira, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Case still be able to contain Pereira? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
