For the first time this season, Hampden will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to challenge the Brewer Witches at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Monday, Hampden made easy work of Nokomis and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.
Hampden's got stronger as the match went on, holding Nokomis to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, 25-7.

Hampden's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniella Madore, who had 16 assists and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Madore a new career-high in kills (two). Lilianne Montgomery-Rice was another key player, getting four aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Hampden was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.
If Brunswick wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Brewer, they should've done a better job of containing Zoe Drake. The Witches put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Drake, who had nine aces and seven digs. Drake is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-10, 25-16.
Hampden's record is now 3-4. As for Brewer, their record now sits at 6-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's contest: Hampden has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 16 aces per game. However, it's not like Brewer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 16.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Hampden skirted past Brewer 3-2 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
