The West Lafayette Red Devils entered their tilt with the Warren Central Warriors with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. West Lafayette secured a 58-53 W over Warren Central on Saturday. For West Lafayette, this counts as revenge for the 54-42 defeat Warren Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Leading West Lafayette to victory were Sarah Werth and Adrianne Tolen. Werth scored 19 points, while Tolen scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Tolen is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Andrew, who scored 13 points.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teleah Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Denell Jacobs was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two blocks.
West Lafayette's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Warren Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lafayette will square off against Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greensburg at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Greensburg is ranked 29th, while Warren Central is ranked 40th).
