Lafayette Central Catholic and Clinton Prairie are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Knights will be playing at home against the Gophers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lafayette Central Catholic has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 14.

Lafayette Central Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corinne Zehring, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Aubrey Bapst, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie hadn't done well against Delphi Community recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gophers put the hurt on the Oracles with a sharp 9-2 victory. Considering the Gophers have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sadie Weliver made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Weliver was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Lily Coleman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kadie Fearnow was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Clinton Prairie has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Lafayette Central Catholic skirted past Clinton Prairie 8-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Gophers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
