The Upson-Lee Knights had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They walked away with a 52-40 victory over Jackson. That's two games straight that Upson-Lee has won by exactly 12 points.
Jackson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kevan Gray, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Goodrum, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Upson-Lee now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upson-Lee will challenge Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to challenge Peach County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Peach County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Jackson likes a good challenge.
