Rockledge is 8-2 against Astronaut since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Raiders will square off against the War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rockledge has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Astronaut will arrive with three straight victories.
Rockledge lost 10-4 to Space Coast on Thursday.
Rockledge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gizelle Arteaga, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Arteaga has hit this season. Maddey Ault was another, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Astronaut put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cocoa Beach. The War Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Minutemen.
Paige Reynolds made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Reynolds was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Minch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Arielys Rosado, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Astronaut always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cocoa Beach only posted an OBP of .250.
Rockledge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Astronaut, their record now sits at 3-0.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rockledge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Astronaut struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rockledge skirted past Astronaut 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the War Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
